With more than 25 years building capacity and partnerships in education and the nonprofit sector, Lucy is a specialist in organizational and leadership development and change management. A dynamic, results-oriented coach and communicator, she helps organizations to develop the awareness and analysis to build equity-focused enterprises and enact race-forward and intersectional practices. Lucy’s expertise includes communities of practice, program design and delivery, establishing evaluation criteria and data collection, and creating the organizational infrastructure to guide implementation. Her network spans a wide range of sectors, industries, and generations.
Most recently, Lucy was the Chief Equity Officer at Education Board Partners, after a career of leadership positions with a series of high-profile government, education, and nonprofit organizations across the New York City region and beyond. These have included the New York State Education Department, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Office of Organizational Development and Training, the Coro New York Leadership Center, Citizen Schools of New Jersey, the New York City Housing Authority and Board of Elections, and the California Charter Schools Association. Lucy managed a state-wide governance training program for the City University of New York’s School of Professional Studies and maintained a $2M scholarship budget for minority students at Seton Hall University. For Teach For America—where she was a corps member early in her career—she went on to develop competencies and development experiences for the organization’s executive directors. Recently Lucy has coached nine regional nonprofits, government agencies, and public institutions in building racial and intersectional equity as part of the TRUE NorthWest Arkansas pilot program.
